Celebration of any festival
is not bound by words.
A language is supposed
to be free then only
you will be able to read
real poetry.
We need to grow our heart specially when it comes to language.
To understand the controversy about the advertisement by FabIndia
it’s called Jashn-e-Riwaaz I had to watch it.
And I found nothing wrong with it.
You can hate me for that. But by using Urdu words you are just intermingling two cultures and isn’t India about that. The advertisement is about homecoming, it’s about the colours of India. It’s about the various festivals of which India is made up of and India is made up of the language Urdu and the festival Eid too. It’s not only Diwali and Holi which is celebrated in India.
If you are searching
religion in a language,
you don’t know
how infinite
the world of words is.
By voicing your thoughts against it you have yet again shown how small your world is and no you are not true Indian you are an angry Hindu who wants India to be known only for Diwali and Holi but we are more than that isn’t that what Gandhi said in these words, “Be that change that you wish to see in the world.”
Isn’t that what we want kids to learn but instead of growing up we are shrinking our hearts and we keep failing by voicing our thoughts for such insignificant things. How can we forget about Mirza Ghalib who wrote about Delhi these lines, when he wrote was he a muslim or a poet? Do we need an answer to this question no because the answer is there in the couplet.
I asked my soul: What is Delhi?
She replied : The world is the body and Delhi its life!
— Mirza Muhammad Asadullah Khan Ghalib
To understand the advertisement we need more poets and less angry Hindus.
I am a hindu but I don’t hate the advertisement or see any reason to hate it.
But you can hate me for that, for now it’s Celebration, Zashn, Pidu, Feest, Feier, Utsav, Kutlama, Kefi, and many more other languages for me. Because I am free from this negativity and I am happy to hide in unfamiliar languages which don’t judge me.
Hate me but you can’t bind language by anything.
Language is above such small things.
